Eric with hair

Aardvark Productions was founded in September, 1994, when owner Eric Filios still had most of his own hair.

A broadcasting veteran since 1974, Eric hasn’t seen it all, but he’s seen most of it. Eric started editing on 3/4” reel to reel video tape, actually physically cutting the tape to make the edit! He perfected a rudimentary replay system for covering high school sports while at the local origination cable station in Wooster, Ohio.

In 1976, he moved to WCTI-TV12 in New Bern, NC, where he edited commercials, and directed the news at 6 and 11pm, among other things.

In 1985 he moved to Charlotte, NC to work at Sunbelt Video, where he directed and edited the award-winning “Inside Winston Cup Racing” for TNN. Later he moved into the job of production manager.

eric at turbocube

In 1994 he started Aardvark Productions in a 200 sq. ft. office with an ImMix TurboCube non-linear edit system. Eric was an early adopter of the non-linear format, and that continues to this day. Our new High Definition system will follow that path.
